The City of Belton has concluded its search for a Finance Director, and has selected Brandon Bozon to lead the Finance Department.
Bozon is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). For the past three and one half years, he has been employed at KPMG, in Dallas, Texas, where he is currently a Senior Associate. KPMG is a major U.S. financial services firm specializing in tax, audit, and related advisory services for public and private clients.

The first officially dedicated street sign for newly renamed Martin Luther King Jr Ave. was unveiled on Tuesday.
Rev. William Hill, who was instrumental in the renaming process, opened the ceremony with a warm welcome. Pastor Andy Davis of First Baptist Church of Belton then offered a few words and a prayer.

The Belton Lady Tigers got their first taste of solid competition last weekend at the 64-team, Bryan-College Station Tournament.
The tourney was the first measuring stick in a trio of tournaments prior to the District 8-5A schedule, due to commence on Tuesday night at Lady Tiger Field against Harker Heights.

Andrew Paysse returned from injury to shoot a two-round total of 74-73-147 and Matthew Lawyer equaled Paysse’s tournament best 73 on the second day to help Belton overcome a 10-stroke deficit and defeat Midway to win the Dodson-Evans Tournament last weeked in Bastrop.
