Mt. Zion UMC of Belton held two special events thispast weekend. They were Sept. 19 and Sept 21. A barbecue fundraiser was held Friday and United Methodist Men’s Day was Sunday.  

Sunday’s program began at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Charles Kenard, pastor of St. John’s Baptist Outreach Center in Killeen was the preacher for the occasion. The public was invited, according to the Rev. Alicia Hines-Kelly, pastor of Mt. Zion.

Friday’s fundraiser was a barbecue by the plate. Meat choices were chicken and brisket, plus potato salad, beans, bread, onions, pickles and a slice of cake.
