UMHB’s Bailey, Jones, Maxie selected to play in Dream Bowl

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football players LiDarral Bailey, Javicz Jones and Sam Maxie have been selected to play in the inaugural Dream Bowl All-Star Game in January. Bailey is the first UMHB player selected to compete in the game.

Bailey, a senior quarterback from Bremond High School, was voted D3football.com South Region Offensive Player of the Year and was a Second Team All-American this year.

Cheerleading could be designated as a ‘sport’

Cheerleading is more than just shaking pompoms and rooting on the team from the sidelines. Intricate dance moves paired with heart-stopping aerial acrobatics have propelled modern cheerleading into an entirely different activity, one that can result in injury. With this in mind, leading health organizations are pushing to have cheerleading classified as a sport so it can be governed by the same safety precautions regulating other sports.
