Mary Ella Solomon

Funeral services for Mary Ella Solomon, 89, of Temple were held at 3 p.m. Tues., Nov. 19, at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton. Interment followed at North Belton Cemetery.
Mrs. Solomon died Saturday in an Aransas Pass care center.
Mary was born in Younts Hill on Dec. 6, 1923, to William and Eunice (Owens) Hill. She married Herbert A. Solomon in April of 1950. Mrs. Solomon worked as an AT&T switchboard operator for over 40 years and sold Stanley products for many years. After her retirement from AT&T, she worked for Subway for 10 years. Mary had been a member of Taylor’s Valley Baptist Church for more than 30 years.


She is survived by one daughter, Donna and Jimmy Johnson of Aransas Pass; three grandchildren, Sam and Melissa Johnson of Keller, Jennifer Johnson of Aransas Pass and Nicholas Johnson of Aransas Pass; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mercedz, Amy, Chandler, Rylie, James and Caden; one great-great-grandchild, Jada.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Pearl Adams and Wanda Jean Hawkins.
Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
