The new building is state-of-the-art and, like many of the buildings in the north end of town, is built with the limestone native to this part of the state. The building has huge double bay doors and over 6,000 sq. ft. of garage space. The front office is 1,200 sq. ft. and includes a customer lounge area, front counter, coffee bar and kids’ play area.
The floor is a modern tile and the employees have a private break room area. They can hold 1,000 tires in storage at the site; in addition to their massive warehouse in Temple. Behind the building, they were able to leave two pecan trees under which they will have some picnic tables.
McGuire’s Tire will sell and install tires but also offers tune-ups, brakes, oil changes and front end alignments.
“We have people pulling up already and we don’t even have our sign up,” said store manager Jeff McGuire. “The staff of the Belton store is currently working at our Temple location till we get the Belton store open. We are stumbling over each other there. Once we get the equipment tested, we will be able to open. We have a strong Belton customer base and Belton has a lot to offer. There is a lot of traffic on this road and we will pick up new customers. I remember when Lake Road was just a small road with nothing on it. That isn’t the case today. The traffic on this road is incredible.”
The store will have five full time employees when it first opens.
Jeff McGuire graduated from Belton High School in 1994 and Tarleton University in 1998. He is a third generation McGuire to run a McGuire’s Tire store.
