RWYC, TxDOT settle for property

The Ralph Wilson Youth Club’s court date on Friday revealed a settlement between RWYC and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on seven of the 11 acres that the existing RWYC sits on. The remaining land will be RWYC’s to dispose of.

“We reached an agreement with them and we’re excited about that,” said Charlie Kimmey.

RWYC will move to their interim location at the end of the month until funds are secured for their new building.

“We’re not starting construction until all the money is pledged, committed or in the bank,” Kimmey said.

They’re still a couple million short of their goal, but the steering committee remains diligent in making presentations and grant proposals. They hope to hit their mark in less than 120 days and to break ground by the end of the year.
