Bell County is growing! National population estimates place Bell County's population at 276,975. This number says Bell County grew by 4.2% from 2006 to 2007. County Judge Jon Burrows pointed out "these estimates are about a year old. Bell County is still growing."

These numbers place Bell County No.12 as the fastest growing county in Texas and No. 62 out of some 3,000 counties in the United States.

The Killeen-Temple MSA (with Belton right in the middle) is the second fastest growing MSA in Texas. That is pushing first place Austin-Round Rock hard. Also, it ranks 14th fastest in the U.S.

The City of Killeen grew by 6.5% to a population of 112,434 last year. That is No. 2 in Texas and No. 6 in the U.S.
