With players from your Tigers teams on Friday nights, it gives them an opportunity to thrill the fans with speed, agility, accuracy and jumping ability.
Many of Belton's varsity players, such as Shane Stafford, Brandon Rhoads, Andre Ewing, Kavan Johnson, Xavier Moffitt and a host of others will be in action.
The two-day tournament features 14 teams from around Central Texas, including Belton, Gatesville and McGregor, who have already qualified for the Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament in Round Rock next month.
It also features five members of District 8-5A in Belton, Copperas Cove, Killeen, Killeen Ellison and Killeen Shoemaker, with all but Killeen fielding two squads.
The majority of the game are being played at Tiger Field. A slate of games will be held at the Belton High School football practice field during the pool phase, behind the southeast side of Tiger Field.
There will be two pools of seven teams apiece. Six games will be played on Friday, with all games 25 minutes in length.
A minimum of two games will be played on Saturday, where bracket play will begin. The first, second and third round games will feature 15-minute halves with a five-minute intermission. All games after these rounds will be with two, 20-minute halves with a 10-minute intermission. This is similar to the Belton State Qualifying Tournament last weekend.
The kickoff of the tournament will be a 10 a.m. Friday, with the pool play commencing. The bracket play kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Pool A of the Lone Star Shootout features Belton #1, China Spring, Copperas Cove #2, Georgetown, Killeen Ellison #1, Killeen Shoemaker #2 and Killeen. Belton #1's games will be at 10, 11 and 2 at Tiger Field, with the Noon, 1 and 3 p.m. games at BHS Football Practice Field.
Pool B of the Lone Star Shootout features Belton #2, Copperas Cove #1, Killeen Ellison #2, Killeen Shoemaker #1, Gatesville, McGregor and Scurry Rosser. Belton #2's games will be at 10:30, 11:30, 2:30 and 3:30 at Tiger Field, with 12:30 and 1:30 games at BHS Football Practice Field.
