The Belton Tigers Football Camp for sixth through ninth graders ended last week at Belton High School.
Almost 400 campers turned out for the week-long session, braving the 100-degree heat.
“The participation on Monday is a testament to how strong football is in Belton,” said Belton athletic director/head coach Rodney Southern.

Wednesday’s session included agility drills for offensive and defensive lineman, receivers and defensive backs, quarterbacks and running backs.
The agility drills included form running, plyometrics, running ropes, seat roll/belly flop, speed ladder, line drills, standing wave/belly flop, cone drills, hoop drills and bag drills.
The camp participants saw time on the field, in the weight room and in the classroom.
On Thursday, the campers enjoyed offensive and defensive drills, as well as special teams work, covering punting, kicking and punt and kick coverage.
On Friday following the first hour of workouts, a 7-on-7 Tournament and Lineman challenge followed with plenty of exciting action
The campers were treated to talks from key Belton varsity players regarding leadership and commitment.
The camp ended with the group in the south end zone watching the video highlights on the new scoreboard, which many of the future Belton Tigers watched in awe.
