Obituaries

Marie Altum

Marie Altum, 70, of Belton died Feb. 13 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Margaret Clemings officiating.

Mrs. Aaltum was born Jan. 9, 1942 in Smiley, the daughter of James Owen Yates and Stella Ruth (Law) Yates. She married Billy Clyde House in 1962 in Laredo, Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She worked at Scott and White Hospital for 237 years before retiring in 2004.She was the first person at Scott & White to receive Employee of the Year recognition.

She is survived by two daughters, La Fonda Collins and Tanya Nix both of Belton, five brothers, Archie Yates and Ronnie Yates both of Bayton, Shannon Yates, Stanley Yates and Randy Yates all of Houston, six grandchildren ant two great-grandchildren.
