Obituaries

John W. Ford

John W. Ford, 66, of Belton died Feb. 16 at his home. Funeral services were Feb. 20 at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Washburn officiating. Burial was in the Moffat Cemeteery at Moffat.

Mr. Ford was born in Lampasas Aug. 5, 1945, the son of James and Lucy Lorena (Sneed) Ford. He married Sharon Weaks April 25, 1967 in Belton.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a letter carrier for the Belton Post Office for over 35 years. He was a PRCA bull rider for many years and was coach of the Belton Girls Baseball Team for 10 years. He was a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Ford of Belton., son James Ford of Ft. Dix, N.J., daughter Regina Castillo of Copperas Cove, one brother, James O. Ford of Ft. Worth and two sisters, Doris Earls of Bella Vista, Ark., and Ima Lackey of West Middlesx, Pa., and 12 grandchildren.
