Obituaries

Betty Sue Wilhite Speaker

Betty Sue Wilhite Speaker, 70, of Bullard, formerly of Belton, died Feb. 24. Funeral services were at 1 p.m; Feb. 17 at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler with Minister Mark Edge official. Burial was in the Bullard Cemetery in Bullard.

Mrs. Speaker was born in Salado, the daughter of June L. and Lillian Hunt Wilhite March 27, 1941.

Reared and educated in Belton she was a graduate of Belton High School. She was an outatanding tennis player in UIL events. She was secretary of the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce before her marriage to Leonard Eugene Speaker.

Her husband's career as a football coach moved the family to Bullard from Dickinson in 1978. She retired from the Bullard Independent School District as a secretary at the elementary school. She was a member of the Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, June Doris Wilhite.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Eugene Speaker of Bullard; two sons, Perry Leonard Speaker and John Paul Speaker, both of Bullard; a sister, Sandra J. Watson of Tennessee; two brothers, Danny R. Wilhite of Copperas Cove and Victor Paul Wilhite of Belton and three grandchildren.
