Tom Edwards, the chairman for the Economic Development Corporation, gave a presentation at the Morgan's Point Resort city council meeting about trail projects the organization is working on. The Texas Parks and Wildlife has been pushing for paddle trails to be developed across the state with the first of these trails being built in Luling.
MPR is looking to develop paddling trails on Lake Belton in conjunction with walking trails in the community. The council voted to do a public notice with an official meeting May 8th.
Todd Brinker was chosen to replace Fred Morris on the EDC board and Texas First Bank was chosen to serve the community in the next year. The council authorized Mayor Jared Bryan to take out a loan in the amount of $78,399 for the new fire truck the council voted for at a previous meeting. The loan will be for five years.
The council authorized BJ Scheible to work up a system of scheduling for the city park with area ball teams who have had disagreements over usage.
The fire department received their new booster truck and the library added 22 books in February.
