Peggy and J.C. Cook celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on March 22.
Peggy Gordon wed Jesse C. Cook Jr. on March 22, 1942 in Corsicana. Rev. Allen A. Peacock officiated.
Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Air Corps and retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 30 years. He was Foreman of the Bridge and Building Department.
Mrs. Cook is a homemaker.
The Cooks are members of Oak Park Methodist Church in Temple and have resided in Temple for 61 years.
They have three daughters; Peggy Dillard of Belton, Alice Garcia and Sally Vaughn of Temple.
They have eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandaughter.
