Pre-K student Elizabeth Wolf gets her face painted at the Miller Heights Spring Carnival last Friday. The carnival helped raise money for the school as well as giving students an opportunity to see their teachers outside of the classroom.Last Friday students from Miller Heights Elementary School gathered together to have fun and laugh with their friends at the school's Spring Carnival. Students, teachers and parents all gathered together to enjoy fun activities from face painting to various other activities.
A lot of the students look forward to seeing their teachers outside of school times and were excited to just play and be kids. The carnival wasn't just for fun though, it also helps raise money for the school.
"It's really important," said Music Teacher Lori Beasley. "They can raise funds for needed equipment for the kids."
The event is just as fun for the teachers as it is for the students. Building relationships with their students and their families apart from the classroom can help the children have greater success in everything they do.
"It's fun to see their families," Beasley said.
Sarah Wolf, mother of pre-K student Elizabeth Wolf, was happy to have her daughter at the carnival.
"It's fun for her to see friends outside of school," she said.
Sarah also found it to be a lot of fun because she used to attend the school as well.
"This is great because I used to go here," she said.
The carnival brought everyone together and brought a lot of joy to the children that work so hard in the classroom every day.
