"I am so proud of the girls," coach Lauren Sanders stated. "The seniors know that they are coming up on the last tournaments of their high school career and they are making sure that they go out with all goals accomplished. Senior Alessa Gonzales shot a tournament best of 82. Kimberlie Sniggs also carded her best, an 87. The girls placed second but they were so excited with beating the team goal, it felt like a 1st Place high."

The host team, Gatesville, won the tournament with a total of 329, Belton #1 was runnerup with a 346 and Belton #2 finished in third place with a total of 384.

The rest of the competition, in order, was Copperas Cove, Gatesville #2, Clifton, Lorena, China Spring, Belton #3, Robinson and McGregor.

Individual scores for Belton #1 were: Alessa Gonzales (82), Kimberlie Sniggs (87), Hannah Sims (88), Codie Robinson (89) and Kyler Tormey (89).

Belton #2 individual scores were: Kove Young (90), Brittanie Keener (92), Taylor Jacobs (101), Samantha Waggoner (101) and Maddy O'Neill (114).

The individual scores for Belton #3 were: Haley Entrop (105), Shilpa Bhat (106), Lauren Hightower (116), Mia Garcia (118) and Katie Myron (120).

"With the District 12-5A Tournament coming up April 4-5, the girls needed this boost and, hopefully, this positive mental state will stick with them next week. We want to bring home another district championship!"

The district showdown will be played at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco.
