Magic Belles win National Championship in Denton

Magic-BellesBelton High School's Magic Belles completed a very successful contest season at the American Dance/Drill Team National Championship in Denton, TX on March 23-24.

The Magic Belles captured the National Championship for "Best in Category" with their novelty routine based on Scooby Doo. The Belles received first runner-up for their Jazz and Modern dance routines.

Overall, the Magic Belles, as a medium high school team, achieved second runner-up for their dance routines of Jazz, Kick, Modern and Novelty, according to Booster Club President Rhonda Schumpert.

Additionally, in the large ensemble division, the Belton group achieved National Championship for their outstanding Hip Hop performance. The Social Officers' dance routine was first runner-up. Officers of the Magic Belles received the National Championship third runner-up spot with their three dance routines of Jazz, Lyrical and Novelty.

Emily Schiller and Ciera Anson attained National Champion for their dance duet and Anson was Solo Finalist. Kyla Cullens and Sam Stapper were semi-finalists in the KickMaster competition.

In earlier contests this year, said Ms. Schumpert, the Magic Belles earned two Grand Championships and a third place overall placement.

The Magic Belles will host their Spring Kids Clinic on Saturday, April 21, from 1:00-4:00pm at Belton High School. The Spring Kids Clinic participants will be featured during the evening performance of the Magic Belles' Spring Show, "All That Glitters". The Spring Show is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm and will feature all competition routines by the team, officers and other special performances .
