Former Tigers head coach passes

Longtime BHS head football coach Jim Rodrigue passed away Sunday, April 1st, at his home in Blanco.
Rodrigue was the Tigers' head football coach from 1988-1996.
Since moving to Blanco, Rodrigue served as the city's mayor, was principal of Smithsom Valley High School and was Athletic Director for the Comal County ISD.
He had undergone surgery recently but suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday morning.
Belton's Joe Pirtle had visited his good friend a week or so ago and said he appeared to be doing "pretty good".
"He was a great, great guy and he touched a lot of lives for good," Pirtle observed.
Rodrigue is survived by his wife, Pat, and services were pending at Journal press time.
