Obituaries

R.L. (Bobby) Caldwell, Jr.

Robert Luther (Bobby) Caldwell of Hurst, long-time Belton resident, died April 29. Funeral services were at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst with burial in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Caldwell was born in Temple Feb. 28, 1928 to Robert Luther Caldwell and Violet Sonendriker Caldwell. He grew up in Belton and graduated from Belton High School. He served in the Coast Guard and earned a BBA degree from UNT. After working 17 years as an industrial engineer, he earned a BS degree from Texas WEsleyan and an M.Ed from UNT and taught science for over 17 years. A strong Christian, he was a Bible scholar and was an adult Sunday school teacher. He sang in the choirs of First Baptist Churches in Euless, Hurst and Bedford.

He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, the former June Reagan, their children, Kristie Winfield and husband Kim of Grand Prairie and Seliece Womble and husband Lee of Houston, two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
