Belton High School seniors, Dallas Jordan, Julia Mueller, and Austin Jordan won first, second, and third places in the Bell County Bar Association Judge Oliver Kelley Essay contest, writing under the prompt, "How the law influences society and each individual's response and how it affects them." Southwest Elementary fourth grade class of Ms. Brendy Dossey show off their RECYCLE t-shirts provided by Keep Temple Beautiful representative Tanya Gray for winning third place and $100 in the Project Redirectory recycling project.

James Burrell (R) was congratulated by BISD Board President Randy Pittenger upon his fifty years of service in driving a bus for Belton ISD at the Transportation Department Service Awards Reception.

Miller Heights students work on two projects: Recycling under Title I teacher Jamie Beaver, collecting 119 pounds and raising $71.58; and Landscaping under Dyslexia Aide Wendy Falsone.

The annual Belton ISD Retired Teacher Reception, sponsored by the PTA Council, was held Wednesday, May 9 at Miller Heights Elementary. Shown is retired teacher Jerry Rolston being greeted by fifth grader Logan Riggins; and Miller Heights third and fifth graders as they entertained.
