University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golfer Taylor O'Rear has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association's All-West Region Team. The team was announced during the NGCA awards banquet at the NCAA Division III National Championships Wednesday night in Angola, Indiana.
O'Rear, a freshman from Salado High School, leads the UMHB women with an 80.61 stroke average this season. She won the individual championship at the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament with a ten-stroke victory over teammate Sara Eckert. That victory was one of five top finishes for O'Rear this season. She also posed runner-up finishes at the Schreiner University Fall Classic and the Southwestern University Invitational. Her play has helped lead the Cru women to five tournament championships on the year and UMHB is back in the NCAA Division III National Championships for the second straight year and eighth time overall.
