The idea for the tournament arose during a discussion of the get-together every three years of all BHS alumni.

"We decided to hold the golf tournament to maybe encourage some folks we hadn't seen in awhile to come and renew old friendships," explained Joe Pirtle. "We decided while we were at it to raise some money for the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation that does so much for us."

The BEEF exists to involve community members, businesses, BISD personnel and alumni in a dynamic program to raise the awareness of academic activities and to promote an enriched, quality, educational experience through funds generated to support such programs.

Grants are awarded each year for innovative classroom enrichment and to help with needed projects. Donations also help to provide scholarships to deserving graduating seniors.

The Tri-annual Reunion Registration will be at 8:30am June 8 and check in for this year's Alumni Tournament begins at 11:00am. Lunch will take place at 11:30, followed by a 1:00pm shotgun start for the tournament.

An awards ceremony will be held afterward at Schoepf's BBQ and Pirtle said he's looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends. It'll be a lotta fun and a great time," he added.

The entry fee of $80 per player includes green fees, cart rental and lunch.

Mulligans are $10 each or 3-for-$25.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place teams ; closest to the pin; and for the longest drive.

The most coveted prize of the day will be a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu --- a gift from Don Ringler Chevrolet-Toyota for the golfer who makes a hole-in-one on the #6 hole.

It could be you!
