Lady Tigers land six on first team

Coach Matt Blackburn's Lady Tiger varsity softball team led the way for all other schools with a half dozen 1st Team selections for All-District 12-5A.
As the fourth place seed for the post-season playoffs, Belton reached the Region II quarterfinals before falling to district champ Bryan. (The Lady Vikings placed five on the 1st Team list).
Belton had a standout infield this season and the All-District picks reflect that.
Sophomore first baseman Alyson Bishoff, senior third baseman Lauren Ramsey and freshman catcher Shelby Hitt were all named to the 1st Team as well as the team's junior pitching ace, Alex Wilson. A pair of freshmen were also named to the 1st Team --- right fielder Skylar Stewart and Bekah Alcozer, a unanimous choice as designated player.
Another infielder, junior shortstop Meredith Langford was the Lady Tigers' lone 2nd Team selection.
