Bell County honors employees, officials

Brisket, sausage, beans and potato salad were on the menu for the annual Bell County employee appreciation barbeque at the Bell County Expo Center, hosted and paid for by elected officials. Several officials who are retiring or seeking a different office spoke to the crowd of hundreds of current and former employees. Longtime Sheriff Dan Smith was unable to attend but sent a note that was read by Bell County Judge Jon Burrows.
The most hearty applause was when the county's longest-serving employee, Judith L. Heard, was presented a thirty years service award pin and special plaque for her work at the jail.
Twenty five years service award pins and certificates were given to: James E. Nichols, Peggy C. Dillard, Jill A. McAfee, Carolyn F. Harrington, G.W. Ivey, Dorothy D. Bland, Bobby D. Anderson Jr., Lee S. Love, Timothy R. Steglich and Carol A. Sedlacek.
Twenty years service pins and certificates were given to: Steven A. Ganley, Alice Y. Stamper, Melissa L. Yoder, Monica M. Cerda, Diane L. Davis, Susie P. Osuna, Teresa A. Stover, Richard E. Fischbach, Robert T. Koblosh, Arden J. Rivenbark, Irene M. Sperry, Tommy L. Carroll, Debra G. Chandler and Glenn W. Pitrucha.
Service Award pins for fifteen years were handed to: Pauline Chavez, Wilma Paige, Robert (Joe) Bernier, Mark E. Danford, Charlotte A. Luther, Joseph L. Sturgeon, Judy M. Taylor, Wanda T.
