DBMA Market Days kicks off 4th year

Berneta-PeeplesThe Belton Journal’s Berneta Peeples takes a bite of a cupcake while Belton City Manager Sam Listi looks on during the DBMA Market Days on Saturday.Downtown Belton Merchants Association launched its fourth year Saturday with 65 vendors and probably the largest shopper crowd to date.

Merchants in the Downtown Belton National Historic business district report record sales and the special events for kids drew a large crowd. A highlight of the day was the antique car show around the Historic Bell County Courthouse.

The opening of the Belton Farmers Market featured early homegrown vegetables. Market Days is the third Saturday of every month under the sponsorship of the City of Belton.

Erma Elser, DBMA president, reminds Market Days is set up and managed by owners of businesses in the downtown area.
