Morgan’s Point fishing tournament a hit with kids

Morgan's Point Resort held their annual fishing tournament for children at the Marina. The event is a tradition that stared years ago and has continued as the first big event of the summer. The Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens provided boat rides, advice and rod and reels for children. They have been a big part of the event for two decades. Academy Sports provide both employees assistance and prizes for children.
The biggest effort putting on the event is made by every department with the City of Morgan's Point working to make the event a success. Each year hundreds of children get to fish at the tournament and this year's event was well attended.
Winners for 2012 were: Big Fish "Boys" – Jorden Trowell 15 ½" Catfish, Big Fish "Girls" – Lila Lunsmann 22 ¼" Catfish, Unusual Catch – Donavan Cooke, Most Fish "Girls" age 0 – 5, 1st - Ceslie Self , 2nd – Gabriella Rodgiquez, 3rd – Cristina Price , Most Fish "Girls" age 6 – 8, 1st – Savannah Siegfried, 2nd – Madison Kubacak, 3rd – Lila Lunsmann, Most Fish "Girls" age 9 – 12, 1st – Alyssa Smith, 2nd – Anastasia Hood, 3rd – Alissa Roker, Most Fish "Boys" age 0 – 5, 1st Brock Gooch, 2nd – Grant Cushman, 3rd – Aiden Champion, Most Fish "Boys" age 6 – 8, 1st – Donovan Cooke, 2nd – Cade Higginbotham, 3rd – Bly Mason, Most Fish "Boys" age 9 – 12, 1st – Keanu Hood, 2nd – Hector Flores and 3rd – Daulten Paulsen.
