Families enjoy Schlotzsky’s fun night
Tuesday, 13 September 2011
Belton Schlotzsky's hosted an exciting, fun-filled event for the whole family to enjoy.
The goal of the event was for the community to have fun by having a night out where they could enjoy a delicious meal and partake in the eagerly anticipated "Cinnabon" eating contest.
"This event was an opportunity for us to invite people who have never been to Schlotzsky's and experienced our good food and great service, as well as to give our regular customers something extra and encourage them to invite someone next time," General Manager John Hirrill said.
Hirrill said that the event was hosted with the students at Belton ISD and University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in mind.
Children were served a combo meal for free and had the opportunity to have pictures with "Bobby the Bun," the mascot of the event.
The highlight of the evening was the Cinnabon eating contest, which took place after the arts and crafts for children.
"A few other stores do family nights but the Cinnabon contest is new," Hirril said.
The contest certainly impressed those who attended the event.
"My children wanted to come to the event because they wanted to see 'Bobby the Bun' and also because they love Cinnabons," Lance Cummings said.
The most impressive contestant was the young and determined Meredith Mikeska, 7, who despite narrowly losing the contest impressed everyone with her resilience and mighty appetite.
Family Fun Night was a wonderful family evening and a great way to end the first week of school.
