Baseball fundraiser
Saturday, 23 June 2012 by Keith Bahlmann
Attention all youth baseball fans --- the Belton Red Sox, a 14U baseball team is currently working on several fundraisers to help with expenses for the District tournament in Belton July 9-12 and, hopefully, on to the State baseball tournament that takes place two weeks later in Brownwood.
The first fundraiser, a garage sale, will take place this Saturday, June 16, at 3008 Amber Forest in the Red Rock Hills addition. A variety of items will be on sale. Future activities will include a car wash, bake sale and raffles.
Mrs. Allison Trevino states the team is also looking for sponsors. A banner is currently being made with the team and its players' names on it. For a donation of $300 or more, sponsors' names will also be placed on the banner.
The boys have really worked hard and have an 8-0 record at this point. The team manager is Tito Rodriguez and the assistant managers are Marshall McDaniel and Bennie Trevino. All donations of any amount will be appreciated. For additional information, call 254-534-2049.
