July 4th speaker announced

Lt. General Donald Campbell, Jr.The speaker for the 88th annual Patriotic Program is Lieutenant General Donald M. Campbell, Jr. Campbell is currently serving as the Commanding General of III Corps and Ft. Hood. He will also be leading the parade as the Grand Marshall for the 4th of July Celebration.
Lieutenant General Campbell is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advanced Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. He holds a Master's Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.
His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal with "V" device, Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge and Recruiter Badge.
He grew up on Army posts throughout the United States and is a Distinguished Military Graduate of Kansas State University, where he was commissioned as an armor officer in May 1978. Lieutenant General Campbell's first duty assignment was with the 1st Battalion, 63d Armor at Fort Riley, Kan., where he served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion S1/Adjutant and Company Commander.
In more recent years, Lieutenant General Campbell has served as Deputy Commanding General-West for US Army Recruiting Command from July 2004 through May 2005. In June 2005, he was selected to serve as the Chief of Staff, V Corps with duty as the Multi-National Corps-Iraq Chief of Staff from January through December 2006. In July 2007 he assumed duties as the Deputy Commanding General, I Corps and then served as the Commanding General, US Army Armor Center and Fort Knox from January 2008 to May 2009. His most recent assignment was as the Commanding General of the US Army Recruiting Command.
