In the Mood to host ‘Idol’ auditions

auditionsGabor Nicholson sings during his audition for the preliminary American Idol auditions at In The Mood Ballroom in Temple last year. Nicholson sang the Eagles “Desperado” and received first place in the audition.Do you have what it takes to be the next winner of American Idol?

Well here's your chance. On June 30 at In The Mood Ballroom, located on 13 S. Main in downtown Temple, auditions will be held for only the first 100 people that arrive.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and end promptly at noon. You can fill out the forms when you get there or get one off of www.kwkt.com next week.

The auditions will begin at 12 p.m. in front of local judges who are all musicians and/or music professors. You do not need to bring your own music because all auditions are acappella.

After the auditions the judges will then pick the 20 singers they think are the best to move on to the Regional auditions held at the Killeen Mall.

An estimation of 60 people will be there to compete, and only one will be chosen to sing in front of the American Idol Producers on July 20 in Oklahoma City.

"If you want to get in for an audition, then I suggest coming very early to get your place in line," Desiree Kennon, Project Manager for Fox 44 Central Texas American Idol said. "The lines can stretch all around the building with about 400 people, and only the first 100 will be chosen."

For more information contact Fox 44 at (254) 338-1058 or In The Mood Ballroom at (254) 773-7088

Keep checking www.kwkt.com for the registration forms that will be available soon.
