Britt Drug sponsored the first “Health Fair on the Square” last Saturday at the DBMA Market Days.Britt Drug and Montgomery Chiropractic teamed up last weekend to provide answers to medical questions and for residents to check on their health during the "Health Fair on the Square" during the Downtown Belton Merchant's Association Market Days on Saturday.
"We just wanted to open it up to Belton and get a lot of people information about all kinds of different things," Ami Kachner of Britt Drug said.
During the fair, residents received free spinal screenings, eye screenings, blood pressure checks and information on how to properly dispose of medications.
"We had most of our vendors show up and gave out a lot of information to people," Kachner said.
The fair also featured Zumba demonstrations from instructors Ivy Foster and Kim Ray.
Foster said despite the heat, the demonstrations were a great way to spread the word about the benefits of Zumba.
"We wanted to show what it has done for us," Foster said. "I've lost more than 50 pounds and Kim (Ray) has lost more than 100 pounds. When they say mind, body and soul, it works it all. It's just an amazing workout."
Kachner said she hopes to continue the health fair on a regular basis, but will be during selected months.
