MPR City Council approves sale of unused items

The Morgan's Point Resort council meeting Tuesday and re-approved Todd Brinker, Tom Edwards and Larry Hartman to the MPR Development Corporation board. Donna Hartman was appointed to the Library Board.
They approved city-owned items that are no longer in use will be sold as surplus and approved a resolution to use the Bell County Animal Shelter to take in stray animals for the city.
The budgeting process for the city will begin in late June. The Fire Department responded to 21 calls in May including two disabled boats, a shore line fire one one structure fire.
The Water Rescue Team has begun training with the City of Temple and Belton fire departments.
The summer reading program will begin July 21 and continue through August 11.
The next cleanup weekend will be June 23-24. The MPR Police Department responded to 31 calls. The reserve officers worked 139 hours.
