Oveta Lynne McDowell, 58, of Belton died July 8 in a Temple hospital. No services are planned.
She was born My 14, 1954 in Corpus Christi to George and Mayble (Garrett) Tatom. She graduatd from Reagan High School in Houston in 1972 and later from Wilberton College in Wilberton, OK. She married Jessie "J.D." McDowell April 6, 1977 in Savanna, OK. She was a registered nurse for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband of Temple; her mother, Mayble Tatom; two daughters, Georgene Watson and Amy Mofield both of Porter; one sister, Jean O'Pry and three grandchildren.
Heartfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
