Obituaries

Ella Louise Tomlin

Ella Louise Tomlin, 94, of Pendleton died July 18. Services were at 11:30 a.m. July 20 at Heartfield Funeral Home. Family burial services were led by J.D.Tomlin, a grandson, and Bro. Joe Broadway and Bro. Elton Lawson.

Mrs. Tomlin was born in Salado Dec. 13, 1917, to Homer V. Barnes and Nettie Clementine Guest Barnes. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1936 and married Lindon Burton (Tommy) Tomlin in 1937. Primarily a homemaker and mother, she was active in community affairs and the First Baptist Church of Moffat where she taught a Sunday School class and sang in the choir. She was a founding member of the Belton Senior Center, a leader in Bell County Home Demonstration Clubs and crocheted hundreds of baby blankets and "odd balls" for the Linus Program.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years in 1999.

Surviving children, all of Pendleton, are Lynn and Elaine Tomlin, Sara and Garland Hector, Larry and Alice Tomlin, six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Belton Senior Center.
