Obituaries

R. A. Wesson

R.A. Wesson, 89, of Belton died July 17 in a Temple hospital. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. July 19 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darren Walker officiating.

Mr. Wesson was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Prairie Dell, the son of John Henry Wesson and Beulah Florine Van Dyke Wesson. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and married Estherlene White June 16, 1947, in Belton. He worked for Civil Service as a fireman at Fort Hood for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Boy Scout master for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Estherlene Wesson of Belton; two sons, Richard A. Wesson, Jr., of Austin and Wesley R. Wesson of North Richland Hills; one brother, John Henry Wesson of Belton, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dossman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
