Sunday, 05 August 2012 by Keith Bahlmann
Melanie Dian Daniell and Matthew David Bowling were wed on June 23, in an outdoor ceremony at Cathedral Oaks in Belton. Melanie is the daughter of Jeff and Cristy Daniell of Florence. Matt is the son of Elfie and Dudley Black of Killeen and Talihina, Oklahoma, and David and Jerrie Bowling of Dawsonville, Georgia.
The bride wore a pewter satin gown with a sweetheart neckline, and a beaded lace overlay embellished with soutache detailing. She wore a lace-edged fingertip veil, and carried a bouquet of hydrangea, ranunculus, mums, roses and lisianthus, in shades of peach, pink and cream.
Her sister, Lindsay Brizendine, was her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Applequist, Mandy Hosman, Amber Krause, Amanda Edwards, Kristen Clark, Chelsea Pacheco and Bethanne Lee. The bride's mother made the bridesmaids' dresses. The halter-style sundresses featured a fitted bodice and crinoline skirting, and each was made in a different pastel rose-patterned fabric.
The best man was Randy Stevens, and groomsmen were Derek Brizendine, Jacob Rhoades, Chris Lee, Sonny Dixon and Cole Parker. Flower girls were Jordan Daniell and Lilly Gower, and Grayson Daniell served as the ring bearer. Pastor Darren Walker of the First United Methodist Church of Belton officiated the ceremony.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Roland and Carla Rutledge Schaub, who sang Cory Morrow's "Always and Forever". Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception, dinner, and dance.
Melanie graduated with honors from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a BA in Education, and is an elementary teacher at Florence ISD. Matt manages his family's automotive business in Killeen. The couple will make their home near the Lampasas River in Maxdale.
