Lewis to head Belton’s basketball program

Charlie-LewisCharlie LewisAthletic Director Rodney Southern announced today that Charlie Lewis, currently assistant basketball coach at Belton High School, has been named as head boys' basketball coach.

Coach Lewis received his bachelor's in business administration, operations management/computer information systems, in 1988 from Baylor University, and his bachelor of arts in Bible from Southwestern Christian University in 1992. His certification is in special education. He has served in Belton ISD since 2007, coaching basketball, track, and football and teaching special education.

Coach Southern said, "Charlie Lewis is an experienced coach who understands how to motivate young people and will be able to build upon the strengths of our present basketball program. He knows what it takes to develop athletes and get them to perform. He is excited about the opportunity and is ready to get started."
