BHS cross country

The Tigers and Lady Tigers cross country teams competed in the Temple Early Bird meet this past week. The varsity girls team placed second behind a very strong Harker Heights team. The boys team placed third behind Harker Heights and Hendrickson.
"I thought the kids did a great job. They were ready and it was nice for them to get out and run. Banfield and Jennings had impressive meet. Jennings ran his best time very in a mile cracking the five minute mark," said coach Ben Bralley.
Varsity girls times were: Macy Banfield-7th 20:54, Lexi Garcia-11th 23:01, Aaralyn Flott-12th 23:06, Jazmin Hernandez-19th 24:05, Yadira Rodriguez-26th 25:06 and Tytiana Wollard-28th 28:07. Top times for the junior varsity were: Kelly Huckabee-1st, 24:29, Abbey Dolan-2nd 25:22 and Macy Niemi-4th 25:37. The Lady Tigers junior varsity won their meet with a deep team taking seven of the top eight spots with Breanna Barber-5th, Kayla Roach-6th, Hanna Jimenez-7th and Sam Zurita-8th.
Varsity boys times were: John Jennings-4th 17:27, Jonathan Lopez-13th 18:39, Stephan Corlew-15th 18:49, Ridge Hale-16th 19:02 and Manolo Gullien-21st 20:00. The boys junior varsity finished fourth with Miguel Kane-14th, Mark Jennings-16th, Jacob Cheek-18th and Tyler Fisher-19th leading the Tigers.
Belton hosts their meet at Longbranch Park in Killeen Friday. The boys run at 7:45 a.m. and the girls around 8:45 a.m.
