Obituaries

Dorothy Hunter Alexander

Dorothy Alleen Hunter Alexander, 93, of Belton, died Aug. 20 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at Dossman Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Crowder and the Rev. John Roark officiating. Burial was in North Belton Cemetery.

Mrs. Alexander was born May 8, 1919, in Belton the daughter of Arch Robert Hunter and Minnie Alene (Boyd) Hunter. She married Dave Alexander Nov. 30, 1935. She retired from Sears and Roebuck Co. after 32 years where she served on the sales staff and was a division manager. She was active in the Heritage Club of Compass Bank serving on the advisory board and as a travel coordinator. She was active in the Golden Age Club of the First Baptist Church and of the Young At Heart at Miller Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of Keys Valley Baptist Church for more than 80 years, taught a Sunday School class for 60 years and sponsored young people for more than 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Alexander in 1989, daughter Glenda Alexander Tweedle in 1989 and son Bobby Alexander, in 2009, two brothers, Robert Hunter and Norman Hunter and a sister, Farnces Hunter Miles.

She is survived by a daughter, Pat Wilson and husband Robert "Punk" Wilson of Belton, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Keys Valley Baptist Church or Miller Heights Baptist Church.
