Crossfit Centex to help raise money for awareness

Crossfit Centex located on Sparta Road in Belton is hosting an event raising funds for breast cancer and community awareness. The Barbells for Boobs a non-profit organization raises funds and awareness for breast cancer through the Pink Bra Tour.

There will be two national events at Crossfit Centex as part of a national tour October 13-14. On the13th starting at 9 a.m. the competition is at ,any weight, 30 clean and jerks in a set time. The competition is for men or women and it is a fund raising event. Prizes are offered from first through third place. This event will be held at the Crossfit Centex location on Sparta.

On the 14th there will be an Olympic competition at Schoepf's Barbeque starting at 9 a.m. in the outdoor area. There will be a silent auction and vendors will be on hand. For participants that raise over $80 they will receive a T-Shirt. The entry fee is $50. and you must register before the event. Kids can also competed at a lighter weight.

"We raised the most of any gym with Crossfit last year. We are the only stop on the tour that has two events. Last year we got great support and hopefully it will be a great event again this year," said Jodi Vaughn a trainer at Crossfit Centex in Belton. Vaughn is a 2011 National Champion.
