Tiger swimmers open their season with a pair of wins at the Belton Tiger Sprint Invitational last Saturday besting Georgetown High School, Gerogetown Eastview, and Gateway High School. The girls team won 5 five events and the boy's team took first in 4 events.

The Girls team won first with 623 point to Georgetown's 492 and the boy's team scored 575 edging out Georgetown with 575.

Freshman Carrissa Basaldua took firsts in the 100-yard individual medlaya and 50 yard butterfly while Freshman Maggie Montgomery took the 200-yard free style and Sophomore Samanth Pentico won the 50-yard backstroke. The relay team of S. Pentico, A. Johnson, C. Basaldua, and K. Hennesse won the 100-yard medley relay.

On the boys side the team seniors led the charge. Senior Benjamin York, 100-yard freestyle, senior Austin Couillard, 100-yard individual medley, and Senior Mitch Anderson, 50 yard Freestyle were individual event winners. The team of B. Smith, M. Anderson, J. Fitzwater, and Kennedy Lim took the 100-yard freestyle relay.

On Thursday, October 4th the Tigers will host Cedar Park. Compeition starts at 6 p.m. at the Roy and Jean Potts Belton Swim Center.

Flag football registration

Registration for a new NFL Flag Football league is going on at the Belton Youth Christian Center. Cost is $65 before 10-12 and $80 after. The league is boys and girls age 4-17. There will be one practice per week from 60-90 minutes and the games start Nov. 3rd and end Dec. 8th.

Think Pink shirts available

The new THINK PINK GO RED t-shirt will be available outside the main ticket gate on the home side at the Belton Tiger football game from 6 p.m. until kickoff! In addition, this year there will be a THINK PINK GO RED drink koozie available for $3 or 2 for $5.

The actual THINK PINK GO RED football game is Oct. 19. We will make our check presentation to Scott and White and want to "PINK OUT" the stadium that night.
