David Ash on Heisman Trophy watch list

Belton's David Ash and the Texas Longhorns came from behind to defeat 41-36 Oklahoma State in Stillwater Saturday in front of a national office.
The former Belton Tiger led the Longhorns 70-yards on the final drive that was a game winner for Texas. Ash threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns in the game.
For the season he has thrown for 1,007 yards tossing 10 touchdowns against one interception. He as also ran one touchdown in. His quarterback rating is 184 and he trails only Geno Smith the quarterback for West Virginia.
Sports Illustrate has a site dedicated to tracking Heisman Trophy candidates. The site called the Heisman Watch has David Ash listed as No. 10 nationally. Geno Smith is tops on the list and this weekend West Virginia travels to Texas to play the Longhorns in Austin.
Heading into the game this weekend West Virginia is ranked no. 8 and Texas no. 10 by the Associated Press. The USA Today coaches poll has Texas ranked ninth. The game is Saturday on Fox with a kickoff set for 7 p.m.
Ash was at the Tigers home game two weeks ago.
