The Tigers won in four games against Ellison on Oct. 5, scoring 25-15, 24-26, 25-14, 25-18, with the help of junior outside hitter Brieanne Brown's 12 kills, senior right hitter Savannah Frick's nine kills, senior outside hitter Alexus Dunning's two aces, and senior setter Maggie Kramer's 24 assists.

Four days later, Belton only had to play three matches against Shoemaker, winning 25-11, 25-11, 26-24 thanks to Brown's 11 kills, Dunnings two aces, three blocks by junior middle hitter Monica Gonzales and 15 digs by junior libero Kinzie Williams.

The girls continued their winning streak in the rivalry matchup against Temple on Friday, scoring 25-19, 26-28, 25-20, 25-16.

"Overall we played well," said coach Stacy Meyers. "The second game we got kind of lethargic. We felt like we had it under control, and they played well and won that game."

Although the third game started to look a lot like the second, Belton was able to recover and win.

"Beginning of the third game was the same, we were down 0-7," said Meyers. "Then we got it together and controlled it. It was a big rivalry and the football game was getting us fired up. I don't think our mind was all in the game, but they just settled down and played."

Meyers was optimistic about the matchup against Midway, but lost in a three game match, scoring 25-21, 25-21, 25-17, leaving the Tigers at fourth in district for the season.
