Gin hosts flagpole dedication ceremony

The Rotary Cloub of Belton hosted a Flagpole dedication ceremony at the Gin Pavilion in Downtown Belton on Monday during their annual event honoring the United States Flag.
The Rotary has worked for more than 100 years to promote freedom for individuals not afforded the same luxuries available to most Americans.
They Belton Rotary Club's dedication of a flagpole at the Gin at Nolan Creek featured the Belton Police Department Honor Guard.
Amy Bawcom, president of the Rotary Club, welcomed those who endured the cool weather for the event. Charles Jones provided the invocation follwed by Rich Reno's reading of "I Am The Flag" by Ruth Apperson Rous.
Both the United States Flag and the Texas flag were raised, and the pledges of allegiance were recited by all.
Former president Trae Sutton provided closing remarks giving special thanks to those who made the event possible including The Gin, which provides a scenic and important landmark in Belton's history, EBCO, ASCO and Terrell Granite for making the monument and the foot of the flagpole.
