Bell County Museum issues Christmas ornament

The Bell County Museum has received its newest church Christmas tree ornament, the 10th in the series. This year features Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Belton. Organized in 1844, Mt. Zion is the oldest black Methodist church congregation in Texas and the state's second oldest black church, according to Clyde McQueen's book, Black Churches in Texas: A Guide to Historic Congregations.
