Morgan’s Point Resort hosted its annual Christmas Parade Friday night. The five-mile parade wound through neighborhoods and ended back at City Hall, where Santa and Mrs. Claus were available for photos. The Morgan's Point Resort Christmas Parade was a success on Friday night, complete with an appearance by the man of the season.
The Christmas Parade is an annual event in the close-knit community on Lake Belton with the parade starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Parade started at Ansay Park and ended at the MPR City offices on Morgan's Point Blvd. By starting at Ansay Park near the softball field it will gave the community an opportunity to see the parade, and it was a five mile ride for those lucky enough to get on the two hayride trailers.
Mrs. Clause was also in the parade and children had a chance to visit both after the hayride.
There were a variety of City vehicles in the parade and several floats including one with carolers. At the end of the parade there were food vehicles where residents can donate food to the Helping Hands Ministries. Canned goods were also collected at City Hall.
There was hot chocolate, cookies, and children had the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa Claus. The event at City Hall lasted until 8:30 p.m. for those that didn't make the parade.
