Funeral services for Helen Christine Thompson, 74, of Temple were held at 2 p.m. Tues., Jan. 8, at Heartfield Funeral Home with Rev. Mattie Lee Cox and Rev. Jackie Cox officiating. Interment followed at North Belton Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Friday at her home.
Helen was born to Ernest and Flossie Alice (Jones) Russell on Oct. 11, 1938, in Early. She married Vergil Lee Thompson, Sr., on Oct. 20, 1955, in Brownwood. Helen was a sales representative for Avon for 30 years.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Joyce Housewright; four sisters, Bobby Trumbell, Estelle Latimer, Inez McInnis, Pauline Parnell; two brothers, Harry Gene Russell, Alton Russell.
Survivors include three sons, Harold R. Thompson of Temple, Willard D. Thompson of Heidenheimer, Vergil Lee Thompson, Jr., of Temple; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Thompson of Temple; one brother, Joe Russell of San Angelo; one sister, Evelyn Satterfield of Blum; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
