Cathedral Oaks to host weekend wedding workshops
Monday, 21 January 2013 by Keith Bahlmann
Two wedding planning workshops will be held at Cathedral Oaks Event Center in Belton on Sat., Jan. 19.
The morning session, from 9 a.m. until noon, is a wedding planning workshop for brides, mothers and fathers of future brides or anyone interested in detailed planning of a wedding.
All participants will receive a wedding packet with an eight page, step-by-step plan that can be used for any wedding.
This will include the timelines for the entire planning process, for the day prior to the wedding, the rehearsal, and for the entire wedding day.
Tips will be given on how to have a stress-free wedding by planning in advance.
By attending beforehand to the many details involved, the outcome will be a smooth, efficient and enjoyable celebration for the bride and groom, their friends and families.
A seven page vendor list will be included in the packet listing local musicians, photographers, florists, caterers, bakeries, deejays, rentals, seamstresses, etc.
A list will be given that includes all those who should wear a flower. A picture list will be given in order to facilitate working with the photographer and getting pictures made in a timely manner. Tips on photographer will be discussed.
The second session, Wedding Coordinator's Workshop, from 1-3 p.m., will be focused on those who desire to be a wedding coordinator or have responsibilities in their churches to coordinate weddings. The emphasis will be on the preparation, paperwork, and planning that goes on previous to the wedding. Also discussed will be the 'extras' that a coordinator can do to assist the bride and groom and their families.
Included in both workshops will be Pam Dial Taylor, who has coordinated weddings in Central Texas for 15 years. The cost is $35 per person, paid at the door. Reservations must be made by Thurs., Jan. 17, by calling Pam Taylor at (254) 760-8855. Ladies and gentlemen are welcome.
