JLBC - New Members
Monday, 21 January 2013 by Keith Bahlmann
On Tues., Dec. 5, the Junior League of Bell County welcomed seven new members during a Christmas celebration held at the home of current Junior League of Bell County President Holly Steele.
The 2012 Fall New Member Class spent the last four months learning about the League and the various projects which the JLBC supports, including Project Prom, Kids In The Kitchen, and Project S.M.I.L.E. an outreach program that supports patients at McLane Children's Hospital in Temple, Texas.
They were also responsible for organizing a special sale at the Second Hand Rose, a resale shop operated by JLBC in downtown Temple.
The sale was a team building exercise and a capstone to all the possible scenarios they will encounter as a volunteer with the league.
The new members of the fall 2012 class include Jennifer Denoso, Kelly Yepma, Erin Rigsby, Amber Hoelscher, Amber Fox, Keesha Dancy, and Reann Murray.
Several times a year, the Junior League of Bell County hosts an information meeting for women interested in membership in the organization.
This is a chance for prospective members to get acquainted with current members of the JLBC, to learn about the projects, services, and fundraisers in which we participate, and to meet and socialize with those who may be joining the JLBC. Current board members, active members and recent new members will be available for questions.
