Boys Freshman A and B

Belton High School's Freshman A squad was defeated by Waco Midway's Freshman A team 74-36. The Tigers led 10-8 in the first quarter before the Panthers went on a 10-0 run in the last minute of the first quarter. The Panthers led 35-21 at the half and outscored the Tigers 39-15 in the second half.

Waco Midway's Freshman B team defeated Belton's Freshman B team 72-14.

JV girls silence Lady Knights

Fueled by a 10-3 opening first quarter, the Belton Lady Tigers junior varsity squad handly defeated the junior varsity squad from Harker Heights 43-21 Tuesday night at Tiger Gym.

Paced by 13 points by Katlyn Jones and 10 points each from Emily Del Real and Jhynae McCray, Belton cruised through the first half and led 24-12 at the end of the half.

Harker Heights was unable to mount defense to halt the Lady Tigers attack, as Belton outscored Harker Heights in the second half.

Belton's victory came with an odd twist: the Lady Tigers scored 21 field goals, one of which was a three-point basket. However, the Tigers did not score a single free throw, with only two attempts. Harker Heights, in retrospect, had seven field goals and seven free throws on the evening.
